        Semana Santa, it is a week that we definitely need a moment of silence. My parents and even my grandparents taught me the importance of showing respect when Lent rolls around when I was still a young child. Jesus suffered and died during this time period to save us. He gave his life in exchange for his religion, which was a genuinely poignant event that occurred many years ago. It takes a full week of prayers, observance of custom, and attendance at mass to honor the death of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

        This custom of visiting seven churches on the day of Good Friday is known as Visita Iglesia and I did that together with my family. It is claimed that this custom serves as a means for the pious to demonstrate their allegiance and faith as well as to consider the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. 2 days later, Easter Sunday greeted us with lovely skies, so we made the decision to visit the beach and enjoy my family's togetherness. 

        Thus, the purpose of the Lenten season is to help us remember what love and sacrifice actually mean, as well as to give us a time to mourn the death of Jesus.
